On 3rd Feb, Mr. Liu Hongru, Deputy Secretary General of CFIE met with the Chief Delegate of TUSIAD Beijing Office Ms. IrazTurhan and her assistant.
Ms. Turhan briefly introduced TUSIAD and its Beijing Office. TUSIAD, established in 1971, is a non-governmental organization of private enterprises. It member enterprises contribute to 50% of non-public economy, hire 50% of all non-agricultural non-public sector employees and account for 80% of Turkey’s foreign trade. Over 600 entrepreneurs in TUSIAD represent 20,000 enterprises and 12 confederation of industry. TUSIAD strives to facilitate the process of Turkey’s internationalization and its accession to the EU. In 2007, TUSIAD set up the Beijing Office to strengthen the business connections between China and Turkey. Ms. Turhan hopes to see more discussions about future cooperation during the two sessions (NPC&CPPCC).
Mr. Liu Hongru introduced CFIE to Ms. Turhan. CFIE was a research institution in the beginning but later became a federation of industrial economics. Besides serving its members, CFIE also helps Chinese enterprises to fulfill social responsibility, and carries out research and make suggestion for the government. CFIE is willing to enhance the cooperation with TUSIAD.
Ms. Turhan said that Turkey pays great attention to China’s One Belt One Road initiative and there is much space for the two countries’ future cooperation.
Mr. Liu Hongru said that we should seize the opportunity brought about by One Belt One Road to strengthen our business relations and promote regional economic cooperation. Both parties will maintain close contact and carry out further discussion.
