The China Grand Award for Industry ("the Award" for short), is China's top award in the industrial sector set up upon the approval of the State Council. The Award has been co-initiated, appraised and selected by CFIE and major national industrial federations (associations) from sectors of coal, machinery, iron & steel, petrochemicals, light industry, textile, building materials, nonferrous metals, electric power, mining sectors etc., as well as local federations of industrial economics at the provincial, autonomous regional and municipal level, to commend the industrial enterprises and projects that represent the highest level of China's industrial development, with outstanding contributions to enhancing comprehensive national strength and promoting the development of national economy. It aims to set up model enterprises to drive the massive growth of enterprises with core competitiveness.
Since its establishment in 2004, the Award has been granted three times to 106 enterprises and projects in total. The commended enterprises have made outstanding achievements in terms of improving economic performance, properly utilizing resources, emphasizing environmental protection, implementing famous-brand strategy, improving the quality of products, ensuring safety in production, fulfilling social responsibilities, enhancing corporate management and effectively utilizing human resources, thus making outstanding contributions to the sustained and healthy development of the Chinese economy.
