Initiated in 2005, Global China Business Meeting (GCBM) is an annual international business seminar co-hosted by CFIE and local/national government in Europe as a platform for Sino-European corporation exchanges and cooperation. The previous 10 sessions have been held in Geneva, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Lisbon, Luxembourg, Valencia, Riga, Hague and Como Lake.
With the theme of “China and World economic development”, every session witnessed more than 300 political and business leaders from China, Europe and rest of the world. Key guests of honor from Europe include President of Greater Geneva Berne Area, Crown-Prince Felipe of Spain, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, Minister for Industry, Tourism and Trade of Spain, Prime minister Jean Juncker of Luxembourg, Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg, Latvia President Andris Berzins, Latvia Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen Former Italian Interior Minister and President of Lombardy Region Roberto Maroni.
Chairman LI Yizhong and other leaders from CFIE have over the years led quite a number of leading entrepreneurs and corporate leaders from renown Chinese companies to participate as speakers including China Unicom, CNOOC, Baosteel Group, Digital China, Shanghai Fosun Group, Sinotrans Co. Ltd, Chint Group, Shougang Group, Heng Yuan Xiang Group, BAIC, Bank of Beijing, CNAF etc.
